Enhanced Respiratory Surveillance-Update

After consultation with Public Health today, enhanced surveillance has been discontinued on the Georgian and Dominion home areas. Masking requirements has been lifted on all home areas.

Heritage Place home area will remain under enhanced respiratory surveillance. Staff will continue to frequently monitor residents for symptoms. Masking is recommended; however, is no longer required.

Balloons at Hillcrest

To support a family member with a severe latex allergy, we now use mylar/foil balloons for all resident celebrations and events — birthday parties, on-unit celebrations, and outdoor gatherings. We ask visitors to continue avoiding latex balloons in the home where possible.

Two exceptions you may notice: latex balloons are used in our Balloon Volleyball and Balloon Badminton programs, which cannot be run effectively with mylar. These are supervised, and balloons are removed immediately afterward. Latex may also be used at staff-only events where no residents or families are present.

Visitor Parking Lot – Temporary Spot Closures

Please be advised that a section of the visitor parking lot is blocked off for repair. As a precaution, a few parking spots surrounding the affected area have been temporarily blocked off.

This is a precautionary measure only — the surrounding spots and the rest of the visitor parking lot remain safe and fully available for use.

We apologize for any inconvenience and expect the affected spots to reopen once the repair is complete. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Summer Bazaar

August 6th: 1:45pm to 4:00pm in Celebration Hall

Come support local vendors and our resident council by bringing your loved one to check out our Summer Bazaar. Something for everyone: Trinkets & treasures, gems and jewelry, gift items, custom plants, knitted gifts and more!

RSVP is not needed. If you plan on attending with your loved ones, please let Reception know; this will help us to focus on providing assistance to those who wish to attend that do not have family attending with them.

Location: Outdoor Front Parking Area; In case of inclement weather: Celebration Hall

A variety of activity stations for all age levels. Cotton candy, POPCORN, lemonade, photo booth & PRIZES!!!

This event is being hosted & run by the programs dept. and volunteers. There is no charge for this fun afternoon. Please bring your family & your resident who lives here and experience some fun and games with them. We have also invited staff to attend this event by Adopting a Resident into their family for the afternoon😊 Please RSVP to Reception@hvcc.ca by August 17th.
