Re:  Facility Updates

NEW- Community Reach: Effective May 1, 2025, it is no longer free for seniors to use the Community Reach transfer service. The fee will be $1.75 for one-way or $3.50 return. Residents will be required to have the exact change for their excursion, and this can be arranged through reception from the residents trust account or families can also pay directly to the driver.

Booking Appointments, Transportation and Escorts: Effective May 1, 2025, families will be responsible for booking outside appointments as well as arranging transportation and required escort (if family are unable to support the resident to the appointment). A list of available transfer service options is posted on our family boards in both buildings. If the appointment can be completed via telephone or virtually, please communicate the appointment details to the Nursing Support Clerk at ext. 245 and they will ensure that a room is available to be used for the appointment. 

NEW- Email Service Provider: To streamline our memos to Families, we will soon be switching to an email service provider called Mail Chimp.  The email will show the sender as information@hvcc.ca You may want to add this email address to your safe senders list so that you do not miss any important facility updates/information. 

NEW- Website Updates: We have added our activity calendars to our website so that you can view the calendars at your leisure. Please note, that if there are changes to the activity times, locations, or the activity itself, we will continue to post it directly on the home area whiteboard on the day of the change so that residents and staff are aware.  https://www.hillcrestvillage.com/calendar

NEW- Renovations to Bayview Library/Private Dining Room: Starting in May, the Bayview private dining room will be closed due to renovations. The 1^st floor Hillcrest private dining room will be available during this time for family meals.

NEW- Menu: The new Spring/Summer menus will be starting on Monday, April 28, 2025.
