Outdoor Areas – Spring Reopening Update
As the weather warms up, we know many residents and families are eager to spend time outdoors. We are pleased to share the following update on outdoor access at Hillcrest Village Care Centre.
Patios and Balconies
- Heritage building – patios and balconies are now open.
- Hillcrest building – patios and balconies are now open.
- Residents are welcome to enjoy their home area patios and balconies. Registered staff on each home area can assist with access.
Grounds and Walking Paths
- Yard clean up has been completed.
- Residents and families are welcome to enjoy walks on the grounds and cleared outdoor spaces.
Parking Lots – Please Use Caution
Our parking lots have not yet been swept following the winter season. Loose sand, grit, and debris remain on the pavement, which can be slippery underfoot and especially difficult for residents using walkers, wheelchairs, or other mobility aids.
- For everyone’s safety, please do not walk residents through the parking lots at this time.
- We kindly ask families to use the patios and cleared grounds for outdoor visits until sweeping is complete.
- We will provide an update as soon as the parking lots have been cleaned.
Tips for Outdoor Visits
- Please dress your loved one for the weather – spring temperatures can change quickly.
- Let the home area staff know before taking a resident outside, so we can support a safe visit.
- Sunscreen, hats, and water are encouraged on warmer days.
Thank you for your patience as we transition into spring. We appreciate your help in keeping all residents safe while they enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.
